The entrance of Sushi Yamamoto with its noren curtain
KAMAKURA HASE
scroll

A seat upstairs, on a quiet street in Hase.

Halfway up Daibutsu-dori, on the second floor, a small noren curtain marks our door. We serve local fish from Sagami Bay and the best seafood of the season, one piece at a time, with fresh wasabi grated on sharkskin. A calm pause after visiting Hasedera Temple and the Great Buddha.

The Master

The master and a sushi chef behind the hinoki counter

Across a single-plank hinoki counter, every piece is made right in front of you. Ask the master what is best today, or which sake to pair. Friendly conversation is part of the meal here.
